When watching this you have to understand who the audience is. A lot of conservatives see the current leftist groups (LGBTQI, social justice in all its forms etc) and they see the connections to Marxism in the oppressed vs oppressor concept. It feels familiar. So Peterson bringing up something contemporary in conversation of Marx - it feels pretty "fair game".

I have tried many times to watch Wisecrack livestreams to learn how and what they think about different issues. I have never encountered anything but efforts to discredit people that in some ambiguous way disagrees with the ‘correct’ opinions of the host. What I usually hear is “this means nothing”, which is strange when used to describe statements that have meaning. I would love to see Wisecrack videos addressing people like James Lindsay that engage with arguments and not just their supposed connections to ‘the other’.

Its influence is harder to measure. The Nation has had quite an influence in Hip Hop, directly and indirectly, but the extent to which its cultural influence has translated to political inluence, that seems marginal at best, probably at most relegated to local municipal politics. Whether it is legitmate is an entirely different question, to which the answer will be no. For example, Malik al-Shebazz (Malcolm X) and WD Muhammad turned their backs on it, with Shebazz embracing something like a more straightforward liberationist ideology before his assassination, and Muhammad a pluralistic version of orthodox Sunni Islam. Mind you, I am focusing here on Afro-Americans; I suspect there may be more hard bitten positions among Native Americans. All that said, it's also a question of which "white" is being anti-d, no? There is the socially constructed category of "white" that historically even many Far Righters rejected (insofar that they didn't want Catholic Europeans included in it), and then there is "white" referring to the concrete people who have been placed into that category. Often, a lot of the "anti-white" discourse of today concerns the category, not the people. [Ah, sorry, you guys talk about the "whiteness" issue literally a few minuted after asking the audience for an answer 😂]
